You can use the app without identifying yourself in any way (you can use the app without logging in through any accounts).
There are two places where other App in the Air users can see very general statistics about your profile: the Leaderboard and the Nearby widget.
Leaderboard
If you are logged in using Google / Facebook / iCloud, your flight history will be visible on the leaderboard under "Profile". However, this is only aggregated data without any details: flight map, kilometers (miles), hours, flights, countries, planes, airlines, and airports. No detailed information will be shown.
Your total statistics for the current year will be shown on the global leaderboard (only name, rank, total kilometers (miles), and hours for the current year). You can disable this feature.
iOS
Go to Profile and open Leaderboard.
Click the "…" button in the upper right corner.
Select the Information button.
Click the "Turn off" button. Now, your stats will only be visible to your friends.
Android
Go to Profile and open Leaderboard.
Click the (i) in the upper right corner.
Click the "Turn off" button. Now, your stats will only be visible to your friends.
Nearby widget
"Nearby" is a widget in the flight feed that allows you to chat with fellow passengers who are on the same flight as you or who are at the same airport (departure/arrival). By default, this feature is deactivated (no one can see that you are traveling on a certain flight).
You can turn it on in the "Nearby" widget if you want to communicate with other travelers.
If you want to disable this feature, open your flight → click on "Nearby" → then "Turn off".
